I love making things with natural wool fibres and I like to combine this with my love of the sea and beach: many of my creations are sea themed or include elements that I have found on the beach.
My 2D felted pictures are made using the wet felt process. I use soap and water to bind the delicate wool fibres together by hand to make a solid felted fabric. Once the basic design is created, I embellish the work with needle felting, hand embroidery, beads, sequins, shells and other decorative items.
The 3D felted work includes items made using wet felt and needle felt processes. Items include wet felted coin purses and bags and needle felted decorative items such as the white mice, field mice and fish mounted on driftwood.
Wreath making is another passion. I have a few wreaths listed on the website but they do tend to be commissioned or made to order. My work includes special celebration wreaths, general home décor and of course seasonal – especially Christmas. I like to use faux flowers and foliage, berries, baubles and other fabulous quality items that will last for years. Each wreath is made on a natural vine base and measures approx. 45-50cm and they can be hung indoors or outside in a sheltered position. Look at my gallery page for inspiration!
Sometimes I add new items; I’ve currently been making some little Mexican art Nichos made with 100% recycled materials. I adore their vibrant colours and quirkiness.
